Troop 205 goes to Indian Island

right at the head of the Peconic Bay!

This 275 acre Indian Island County Park is at the estuarine mouth of the Peconic River – a very popular and picturesque setting.  What was formerly the "island" at Indian Island County Park is now connected to the mainland by a causeway composed entirely of white sands. Remote, yet easily accessible to all, this "island", complete with picnic tables, grills, comfortable benches and views of a glistening and peaceful Flanders Bay, offers one of the finest picnicking sites available in Suffolk County. Be sure to bring your bike and helmet for Saturday’s Bike Hike out along the beautiful Peconic Bay!  In-camp activities for those not Bike Hiking on Saturday morning, followed by a Troop and Webelos Scouts activity in the afternoon in the camp area.

Leaving Friday, November 10, 2017 – Meet at the Great River Fire House at 6pm as we’re heading out right at 6:15pm in Class “A” Scout Uniform.
Returning By mid-morning Sunday, November 12, 2017.
Location Indian Island County Park, Riverhead, Long Island.   

Directions: LIE exit 71; Right turn onto Route 24 at end of exit ramp; Follow Route 24 south through the Riverhead Traffic Circle; Continue on Route 24 and make a left turn at the next traffic light onto Route 105; Follow 105 to entrance on right.  

Should I Attend? You bet!  We would like to have all our Troop 205 Scouts and Pack 1st and 2nd year Webelos – with a parent, to attend as a great time will be had by all!  Webelos Scout must bring a parent.     
Cost

Troop 205 Scouts: $7.00 Includes partial campsite fee, Friday night Cracker Barrel and Saturday night dessert ($4. Campsite portion of the cost is paid for by the Troop) payable to the Troop by October 30, plus an additional $15. Patrol Cooking cost payable in cash at the WEDNESDAY, November 8th Troop Meeting.

Webelos, Webelos Parents, Troop Leaders, and Troop Parents: $26 Includes the campsite fee, Friday night Cracker Barrel, Saturday night dessert and the Patrol Cooking – all payable to Troop 205 by the MONDAY, October 30th Troop Meeting.

Dress Class “A” Uniform on Friday, warm clothes on Saturday (Troop 205 Scouts and Leaders in Class “B” or "C"), and Scout uniform on Sunday. 
Packing Sack dinner for Friday evening, uniforms as stated above, warm sleeping bag, change of shoes, sweatshirt and cold weather jacket, rain poncho, flashlight, folding camp/sport chair, mess kit, BSA Handbook and your bike/helmet.  Please follow the equipment for Cold weather camping as itemized on our site.
Cell Phones Troop policy – no Scouts bring Cell Phones.
Sign Me Up! Sign-up deadline is Monday, November 30 with signed permission slip and payment to Troop 205 (for Troop Scouts, the additional $15 food cost is due in cash at the Nov. 8th Troop Meeting).
